Job description
Role overview
Voyages Tourism Australia is looking for a practical, hands-on Housing Services Handyperson to be based onsite at Yulara, Northern Territory, within Ayers Rock Resort. The resort is about a 20-minute drive from Uluru, one of Australia’s most recognisable and culturally important landmarks.
The successful person will join the Housing Maintenance Team and should already have experience in a trade-style environment, along with an understanding of building construction. The role focuses on responding to maintenance needs promptly, safely, and with care, while also supporting tradespeople on a variety of trade-related tasks when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Help run day-to-day housing operations, including cleaning tasks, preparing properties, and managing inventory for furniture and related FF&E items.
- Keep buildings, fixtures, and fittings in proper working order through timely maintenance and repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Handle urgent repair work as a priority so guest satisfaction remains high.
Requirements
This position requires a current full Australian driver’s licence and a valid White Card. The ideal applicant will bring practical trade experience and a working knowledge of construction and maintenance tasks.
Working environment and growth
The role offers the chance to be part of a close team focused on maintaining safe and functional residential accommodation and surrounding areas. Working onsite also provides access to a range of resort-based benefits and the opportunity to experience the Red Centre during free time.
Perks and incentives
Employees may receive discounted accommodation, competitive pay, resort discounts, meals provided during shifts, and relocation assistance of up to $700. Additional access includes the staff pool, gym, and Residents Club.
There is also an incentive and bonus programme available after one year of service. This includes rental discounts, a $700 vacation bonus, and resort vouchers for the work anniversary. Team members can also benefit from development opportunities, attendance incentives, and performance-based recognition.
Additional information
A National Criminal History Check is required as part of the recruitment process.
