About the Role
Sancta Maria International School in Faridabad is seeking a dedicated Houseparent for the Girls' Residence, a full-time residential position. The role demands compassion, maturity, integrity, and a heartfelt commitment to nurturing student wellbeing. The Houseparent will oversee the pastoral care and holistic development of female boarders, ensuring a safe and supportive environment that fosters confidence, independence, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily pastoral care, supervision, and emotional support to girl students living in the residence.
- Create and maintain a respectful, inclusive community aligned with the school's core values.
- Ensure safety, security, discipline, and overall wellbeing of all residents at all times.
- Supervise daily routines encompassing study time, meals, recreation, bedtime, attendance, and personal hygiene.
- Encourage development of self-reliance, resilience, leadership skills, and essential life competencies.
- Collaborate closely with faculty, counselors, nurses, and school leaders to promote students’ academic and emotional growth.
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents regarding students’ welfare, progress, and residential experiences.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies, behavioral issues, or welfare concerns.
- Keep detailed records relating to attendance, incidents, medical updates, and the boarding house operations.
- Organize and facilitate recreational, cultural, wellbeing, and community-building events for boarders.
- Ensure that the residence is consistently clean, orderly, safe, and supportive of student needs.
- Adhere strictly to safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Perform further duties as assigned by the Head of School or Boarding Leadership team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, or related field preferred.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience working with children or adolescents in boarding schools, residential care, hostels, or similar settings.
- Prior experience specifically in pastoral care within an international school is advantageous.
- Certifications in First Aid, Child Protection, or Safeguarding are desirable.
