Role Overview
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for ensuring an outstanding guest experience onboard through impeccable cleanliness and visual appeal. This role requires seamless delivery of premium services that create memorable moments for guests.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent hospitality, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills to fully own and manage cleanliness standards and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full accountability for maintaining cleanliness and upkeep to the highest standards.
- Ensure the flawless execution of housekeeping services that meet or exceed guest expectations.
- Foster a positive work environment and manage performance through ongoing open communication.
- Provide leadership through effective training, development, and recognition of supervisors and crew members.
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor to ensure exceptional customer service and consistent operational excellence from the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 to 3 years of progressive managerial experience in housekeeping, preferably within upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise ships; shipboard experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related discipline from an accredited institution or international equivalent is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of cleaning processes, chemical handling and safety protocols, equipment use, and personal protective gear.
- Skilled in talent evaluation, maintaining quality service standards, guest satisfaction, staff development, leadership coaching, and frontline as well as junior management leadership.
- Adept in human resources policies and practices relevant to housekeeping management.
- Proficient with computers and internet use, including software such as Excel, Word, and company-specific programs (e.g., SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, Kronos).
- Knowledgeable in budgeting, financial management, cost control, inventory, procurement, and related operational planning.
- Demonstrates a strong results-driven leadership style with a record of successful outcomes.
