Job description
Role Overview
The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority manages some of Australia's most treasured coastal areas, including parks, reserves, and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road. This includes working collaboratively with Traditional Owners, stakeholders, and communities to protect environmental, cultural, and heritage values while encouraging sustainable tourism and long-term conservation.
Our caravan parks are significant revenue generators, offering diverse accommodation to over 800,000 guests annually. Located near stunning beaches, these parks cater to families, tourists, students, and other visitors.
Position Purpose
The Caravan Park Housekeeper will be responsible for daily cleaning and upkeep of public facilities, caravans, cabins, and other amenities to ensure all areas remain clean, tidy, and fit for use.
Primary Duties
- Conduct routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, laundry, making beds, washing dishes, waste disposal, and related duties in cabins, communal ablution blocks, kitchens, offices, and park buildings.
- Serve as a direct point of contact for visitors, providing information, addressing complaints, and managing maintenance requests as necessary.
- Promptly communicate customer-related issues to management following park protocols to maintain smooth operations.
- Manage inventory tasks involving stock rotation and manual handling of boxes, linen, and supplies.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Hands-on cleaning expertise from settings such as health care, hospitality, or aged care.
- Familiarity with manual handling safety procedures and chemical usage is preferable.
- Effective communication skills with a diverse visitor base.
- Ability to collaborate and function well within a team environment.
- A proactive mindset towards problem-solving challenges on the job.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
Additional Information
The position is casual with an hourly wage of $33 inclusive of 25% casual loading. Applications close on 26 July 2026, 11:59 PM.
