Position Overview
This role is based at a premier Horizon North camp facility, primarily supporting a project in Moosonee, Ontario. The work schedule follows a rotation of two weeks on-site with 10-hour workdays, followed by two weeks off, with provided transportation from designated pickup points.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and cleaning of approximately 30+ rooms, depending on occupancy levels.
- Provide comprehensive housekeeping services in guest rooms and common hallways.
- Change linens and make beds weekly or as necessary.
- Vacuum and dust all furniture, blinds, and hallway areas.
- Clean, sanitize, and scrub bathrooms, windows, and mirrors thoroughly.
- Remove garbage and recycling from sleeping quarters and other designated areas.
- Wash, fold, and manage towels, linens, and bedding.
- Assist with loading and unloading laundry and supply trucks.
- Maintain precise records of lodge bedding inventory and report shortages to management.
Qualifications
- At least six months of experience in janitorial or housekeeping duties.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, materials, equipment, and relevant chemicals.
- Experience in remote lodge settings, hotels, or institutional environments is preferred; commercial cleaning experience is an advantage.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while contributing effectively to team efforts.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Successful completion of the WHMIS test with a score of 80% or higher is required.
