Job Overview

This role involves managing kitchen operations in a restaurant setting with responsibilities ranging from food preparation to supervising staff and coordinating events. It requires being present on-site at the physical location in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate special events and manage their culinary aspects.
  • Determine portion sizes and calculate food costs accurately.
  • Plan menus and estimate necessary food quantities.
  • Request food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Prepare and cook full meals and individual dishes, including for customers with allergies or intolerances.
  • Prepare special dietary meals following instructions from dietitians or chefs.
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas for cleanliness and compliance.
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and safety procedures.
  • Order and maintain supplies and equipment inventories.
  • Supervise kitchen employees and helpers effectively.
  • Maintain records related to food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and workspace areas thoroughly.
  • Recruit and hire new kitchen staff.
  • Organize and manage buffets and banquet preparations.
  • Oversee overall kitchen operations to ensure smooth functioning.

Education & Experience
