Job Summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Housekeeper to maintain our facilities. The role is crucial in upholding our reputation by ensuring a clean and orderly environment for clients, while strictly adhering to quality care and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute a range of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, waste disposal, bathroom sanitation, and post-discharge cleaning, all while following infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices.
  • Perform admission, discharge, and isolation/outbreak room and unit cleaning according to IPAC and company procedures.
  • Ensure all areas are maintained and inspected to established standards.
  • Safeguard equipment and report any inadequacies or damages.
  • Address and resolve reasonable client complaints or requests with professionalism and patience.
  • Monitor and replenish stock levels of cleaning supplies and consumables.
  • Strictly comply with health and safety regulations and company practices.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives as part of the company's Quality Management System.
  • Proactively participate in health and safety activities, reporting any identified risks or concerns to supervisors.
  • Complete accident reports for any staff injuries within 24 hours.
  • Actively support and participate in continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of client and corporate information, sharing it only with authorized personnel.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • A secondary school diploma is preferred, along with relevant Home Support Program certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience as a cleaner or housekeeper.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and maintain a high standard of performance.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently.
  • Possess a customer-focused and friendly demeanor.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations objectively.
  • Proficient in prioritizing multiple tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Capability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, reach freely, and lift up to 23 kilograms.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication in English or French.
  • Solid understanding and application of infection prevention practices.

Experience

A minimum of one year of recent experience in a similar role or equivalent life experience is required.
