Job description
Role Overview
As a Housekeeper in an assisted living community, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Your work will directly support the well-being and daily experience of the people living in the community.
What You’ll Do
- Keep resident rooms tidy, sanitary, and orderly.
- Clean and maintain shared community spaces, offices, and public restrooms.
- Empty trash and replace soap, paper products, and other supplies as needed.
- Wipe sinks, toilets, plumbing fixtures, mirrors, furniture, and other surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets and sweep and mop floors on a regular basis.
- Maintain apartments so they remain safe, pleasant, and welcoming while safeguarding residents’ personal belongings.
- Clean spills, stains, and other messes when found or when directed.
- Use cleaning products and hazardous materials according to instructions and department procedures.
- Clean exterior windows, patios, and other outdoor areas when assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
Previous work in housekeeping or facilities is an advantage, especially in a multi-unit setting. Experience in senior living or a healthcare environment is also helpful. You must be able to carry out the essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
