Role overview
Join Wellesley Hospital in Taunton as a Housekeeper if you take pride in precision, cleanliness, and helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment for vulnerable people. You’ll be part of the housekeeping team supporting a mental health service, making sure all areas are kept to a high standard.
What you’ll do
Your main responsibility will be to clean and maintain the hospital’s shared and private spaces, including wards, offices, bedrooms, and visitor areas. You’ll work closely with the maintenance team to ensure the site remains clean, tidy, and well presented.
The role also involves meeting and greeting visitors professionally, using good telephone manners, supporting day-to-day service operations, and contributing positively to the team culture.

Work location
You will be based at Wellesley Hospital, Westpark 26, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9FF. The hospital is a purpose-built 101-bed facility for men and women with mental health needs, with 6 wards for mental health and 1 ward for people with learning disabilities and autism. The site opened in 2017 and works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, and Livewell to provide an effective care environment.

Additional information
Annual base salary: £25,057.50. You’ll also receive the equivalent of 33 days’ annual leave including bank holidays, plus your birthday off, with the option to purchase extra leave during the annual selection window.
