About the Role

A caring family of five based in Athens, Georgia, is searching for a committed and organized House Manager / Nanny to oversee household operations while providing attentive childcare to their three children aged 4, 7, and 9. This live-out, full-time position entails a blend of household management duties and intermittent child supervision, with a key focus on meal preparation and maintaining a smooth home environment.

Key Duties

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children and entire family.
  • Manage grocery shopping, farmers market visits, meal planning, and organize the kitchen efficiently.
  • Cook healthy dinners on weeknights and prep lunches or pack school meals as needed.
  • Ensure dietary preferences are respected and the kitchen remains clean and well-stocked.
  • Provide proactive childcare including school drop-offs/pick-ups, after-school activities, and transportation.
  • Support homework, reading sessions, and age-appropriate enrichment activities.
  • Maintain consistent daily routines and a calm, positive atmosphere for the children.
  • Oversee household upkeep such as light cleaning, laundry, tidying, and coordination with cleaning staff.
  • Manage household supplies, errands, and inventory with foresight to prevent shortages.
  • Coordinate vendor visits, maintenance services, and property-related tasks, including assisting with outdoor garden care spanning 500 square feet.
  • Maintain household calendars, schedules, and organizational systems.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding children’s activities and needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, acting as a steady and trustworthy presence.
  • Be flexible to occasionally work evenings, weekends, or assist with family travel.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience as a nanny, house manager, or combined role, ideally handling multiple children.
  • Skilled in cooking and meal preparation within a family setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong time management capabilities.
  • Warm, patient demeanor with children accompanied by energetic engagement.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Clear and proficient communicator in both verbal and written formats.
  • Comfortable with an active, outdoor-oriented family environment.
  • Trusted to maintain discretion and professionalism under all circumstances.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to acquire.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in hybrid childcare and household management roles.
  • Experience working with school-age boys.
  • Passion for home cooking and making healthy, simple meals.
  • Familiarity with light cooking and meal prep routines.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Workdays: Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 8 pm with slight variations.
  • Annual Salary: $50,000.
  • Accompany family on travel approximately one month annually.
