Host/Hostess - Food and Beverage Role

Position Overview

As a Host/Hostess at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts situated on The Pearl Island in Doha, Qatar, you will be responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. This position requires assisting guests in navigating the dining area and attending to their seating needs with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and identify the size of their party.
• Seat guests by selecting clean and available tables, pulling out chairs, and placing clean and updated menus before them.
• Escort and guide guests through the dining rooms, offering assistance as needed.
• Rearrange tables and chairs to accommodate group requirements, including special needs.
• Ensure all place settings meet standards, including napkins, silverware, and other table items.
• Verify menus are clean, current, plentiful, and free from wrinkles.
• Maintain cleanliness in work areas continuously throughout the day by adopting clean-as-you-go practices.
• Monitor the dining room for seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest comfort.
• Comply with all company and safety protocols; report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
• Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality related to company information.
• Engage guests with courteous communication and handle telephone etiquette professionally.
• Foster positive teamwork, assisting colleagues and addressing their concerns responsibly.
• Adhere to and uphold quality standards consistently.
• Perform light physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking for extended durations, and handling objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Eligibility and Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No prior experience in the field is necessary.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications mandated.
