About the Role

We seek experienced Hospital Health Data Governance Leads to ensure that health data powering advanced AI models remains precise, compliant, trustworthy, and clinically relevant.
This position is a fully remote, flexible contract opportunity tailored for seasoned professionals familiar with hospital operations, data flows across clinical and operational systems, and the principles of responsible data governance.
Responsibilities
- Assess and establish governance standards ensuring hospital health data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze and evaluate data governance frameworks, policies, and controls covering clinical, operational, and administrative data areas.
- Detect data quality concerns, documentation gaps, and inconsistencies that could jeopardize clinical or analytical validity.
- Utilize knowledge of healthcare compliance and privacy regulations, including HIPAA, to appraise and enhance data management procedures.
- Provide expert, structured feedback regarding the classification, management, and utilization of health data within hospital settings.
- Operate independently and asynchronously, working completely on a flexible schedule.
Requirements
- Proven experience in healthcare data governance, clinical data operations, or health information management.
- Strong understanding of healthcare privacy, compliance standards, and regulatory frameworks, notably HIPAA.
- Ability to navigate cross-functional teams involving clinical, IT, compliance, and administrative personnel.
- Keen attention to detail and systematic approach to identifying and rectifying data standard deficiencies.
- Clear and precise written communication skills for documenting findings and recommendations.
- Self-driven and dependable when working autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI training processes.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), health informatics, or clinical data architecture.
- Knowledge of data governance methodologies such as DAMA-DMBOK or FAIR data principles.
- Background supporting regulatory audits, accreditations, or clinical reporting activities.
