Role Overview
The position of Hospital Food Service Worker is full-time and requires on-site presence in Mumbai. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing meals to patients, staff, and visitors according to hospital policies and nutritional guidelines. Daily duties involve assisting with food preparation, portioning and plating meals, ensuring cleanliness in kitchen and serving areas, and maintaining appropriate food storage and labelling procedures.
The role also requires observing food safety and sanitation protocols, delivering meals to patient rooms or dining facilities, and politely attending to requests from patients and staff. Collaboration with the food service team to guarantee timely meal service, managing basic inventory levels, and complying with hospital regulations and procedures are essential aspects of the job.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in food preparation and handling, with a focus on portion control and fundamental nutrition principles.
- Experience in food service operations, especially meal distribution and coordination within hospitals or similar institutions.
- Understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and safe storage and handling of food items.
- Capability to deliver courteous and efficient customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Previous experience in hospital kitchens, cafeterias, or related environments is advantageous.
- Physical ability to stand for long durations, handle moderate weights, and thrive in a fast-paced work setting.
- Basic literacy and numeracy; vocational certification in food service or hospitality is beneficial.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, aligning with hospital operational needs.
- Strong teamwork, dependability, and strict adherence to hospital policies and safety guidelines.
