Key Responsibilities

• Perform various small to medium maintenance and repair tasks for residential and commercial properties, with jobs lasting from a couple of hours up to two days
• Engage with customers to explain necessary work, manage scope and cost expectations effectively
• Deliver outstanding service to create lifelong client relationships by adhering to the proven Mr. Handyman Way process

Performance Metrics

• Achieve high customer satisfaction scores through follow-up surveys measuring service quality
• Meet or exceed revenue targets by securing additional jobs and services during customer engagements
• Maintain accurate billing, materials procurement, and payment collection for services rendered
• Ensure quality workmanship to guarantee minimal service recalls within the one-year warranty period

Candidate Profile

• Alignment with company culture and strong buy-in to organizational vision
• Ability to self-manage while frequently working independently
• Effective communication skills for customer interactions, reviews solicitation, and payment collection
• Proficiency in job documentation and following company procedures
• Commitment to using proper personal protective equipment and caring for customer property by wearing protective booties

Mandatory Requirements

• Residency in the local area
• Minimum of eight years paid experience as a handyman professional
• Ownership of a personal set of tools
• Insurance eligibility for driving the company vehicle
• Successful completion of background and driving record checks
• Capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds unaided
• Ability to safely perform work at heights and overhead tasks for prolonged periods
• Professional appearance and upkeep of company vehicle

Technical Skills

Proficiency in at least three of the following areas is required:

• Carpentry work
• Bathroom renovations
• Kitchen renovations
• Interior and exterior painting
• Drywall repairs, both minor and major
• General plumbing and electrical work within legal limits
• Flooring installation and refinishing
• Knowledge of relevant building codes

Compensation

The hourly wage ranges from $20 to $25, depending on your handyman experience and expertise in additional trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and drywall work.

This position is offered by the franchise owner of Mr. Handyman in E. Nashville & Hendersonville and not by the parent company or its affiliates. Franchise owners operate independently and handle their own employee compensation and benefits, which might vary.
