Job description
Company overview
Suncorp is focused on helping people build for the future and safeguard the things that matter most. The group is one of the major insurance providers across Australia and New Zealand, serving millions of customers through brands such as AAMI, GIO, Vero, Bingle and Apia.
For over a century, the business has supported customers and communities through difficult and unexpected events. Its workforce is central to that mission.
The organisation promotes a workplace culture grounded in trust, flexibility and empowerment, giving people the support they need to grow, contribute and do work that matters.
Role summary
In this Home Claims Assessor role, you will represent the company at a time when customers often need support the most. This is a full-time, on-road position and may be based in Melbourne, Gold Coast, Brisbane or Townsville, or Sydney.
You will travel to customers' properties to inspect damage, assess the scale of loss, and collect the details required to progress home insurance claims. The role involves producing thorough reports, coordinating with builders, repairers and other service providers, and contributing to outcomes that are both fair and timely.
Each day will bring different situations, and you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on customers' lives.
Profile and experience
The company is seeking people who are comfortable solving problems, developing relationships and supporting customers during stressful times.
Strong candidates will typically have a background in residential construction, such as experience as an estimator, supervisor or builder, or they will hold a relevant trade qualification.
Applicants without a trade qualification may also be considered if they bring established experience in home claims assessment and claims management, together with a solid understanding of property damage and the claims process.
Additional information
This role can be located in Melbourne (VIC), Gold Coast, Brisbane or Townsville (QLD), or Sydney (NSW).
The position is full-time and requires on-road work, visiting customer homes rather than working remotely.
