About the Role
Top Oil is currently seeking a dedicated HGV Oil Tanker Driver to operate from our Kilkenny Depot. This role focuses on the safe and efficient loading, transportation, and delivery of oil products, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal standards whilst providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage professionally and courteously with customers at all times.
- Deliver services safely, following company delivery protocols.
- Foster positive relationships with existing clients.
- Promote the company, its products, and services proactively.
- Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate leads to the depot team.
- Operate the vehicle safely and courteously in compliance with road laws and company policies.
- Maintain vehicle and equipment condition, promptly reporting any defects.
- Load and unload vehicles adhering to company and safety procedures.
- Ensure environmental care when handling oil and immediately report any spillages, managing containment appropriately.
- Plan load distribution and delivery routes effectively each day.
- Complete daily administrative tasks including stock reconciliation, loading dockets, vehicle tank dips, delivery docket management, and vehicle checklists.
- Follow guidelines outlined in the Company Drivers Handbook.
- Submit detailed written incident reports as required.
- Secure and reconcile cash payments daily with supporting documentation.
- Comply fully with company operational policies and safety regulations.
- Prevent loss or damage to goods or company property.
- Participate actively in training and safety awareness programs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must possess a current C driving licence.
- Possession of an ADR/Haz Chem certification is preferred.
- CPC qualification is mandatory.
- Prior experience in logistics, freight, or preferably the oil industry, is essential.
