The hiring organization is a fully employee-owned engineering firm operating in the United States. It has built its business around a long-standing ownership model that helps make it one of the larger names in its field.

Role Overview

This remote help desk position focuses on delivering dependable IT support across several locations, with an emphasis on weekend coverage. The role helps keep day-to-day operations running by resolving technical issues quickly, supporting a mix of personal and business devices, and assisting users through different communication channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Log incoming IT support requests, sort them by priority, troubleshoot issues, and resolve them independently when possible or route them to the right team when needed.
  • Work toward closing most support cases during the first interaction.
  • Take part in reviewing and rolling out technology standards.
  • Help create and maintain standard images for desktops, laptops, and virtual desktops.
  • Support deployments of hardware and software across the organization.
  • Provide guidance, tools, and training that help employees use technology more effectively.
  • Maintain IT equipment, handle minor repairs, coordinate vendor repairs, and track spare parts inventory.
  • Assist with mobile device service requests and administer Microsoft Intune for company phones and tablets.
  • Prepare and purchase devices when approvals are in place.
  • Contribute to organization-wide technology projects and initiatives.
  • Manage user access and controls within company software platforms.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience supporting end users in a complex business environment.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Windows 10, Office 365, and Apple iOS.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and DNS.
  • Strong familiarity with computer systems, mobile devices, and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot applications, operating systems, and hardware problems.
  • Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good time management and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Willingness to travel between multiple locations when required.
  • Microsoft, Cisco, or comparable certifications are a plus.

Compensation

The expected pay is $23 to $31 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation also includes a discretionary bonus and an employee stock program.
