Heavy Duty Cleaner

About the Role

GDI Integrated Facility Services is looking for a heavy duty cleaner to support day-to-day facility upkeep in Windsor, Ontario. The role focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and presentable work areas across floors, washrooms, common spaces, offices, and other parts of the site. The position is based onsite and follows a full-time evening schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00 pm to 1:30 am.

What You'll Do

• Keep indoor floors, stairs, and similar surfaces clean by sweeping, mopping, and washing them.
• Handle occasional stripping and waxing, carpet steam cleaning, and window cleaning when requested.
• Clean window sills, interior glass doors, partitions, and any designated windows.
• Wipe glass and trim at entry doors, and spot-clean interior walls as needed each day.
• Clean washrooms daily and replenish paper products and other supplies.
• Follow standard washroom cleaning steps, including wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste bins, restocking soap and toilet paper, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls and stall partitions, and scrubbing floors.
• Support the supervisor with other tasks whenever assistance is needed.
• Notice and report issues such as blocked urinals or burnt-out lights.
• Work across two nearby buildings, including shower areas, with travel between the buildings as required.
• Collect trash each day, move it to approved bins, and place it in the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in wastebaskets and garbage containers according to specifications.
• Perform high dusting and wall washing as needed.
• Operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment, manage compactors, and lift items up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to follow instructions, work with limited supervision, and collaborate well with others.
• Comfort using cleaning tools and equipment.
• Own transportation is required.
• Strong attention to detail, a service-oriented mindset, good organization, and the stamina to handle physically demanding work.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
