Heart of House Specialist

About the Role

The Heart of House Specialist provides essential support across multiple hotel departments including kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry operations. Their duties cover ensuring cleanliness and availability of linens and tableware for guests, operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, washers, and dryers, and transporting linens and tableware throughout the hotel. This multifaceted role involves various physical tasks like moving, lifting, pushing, and positioning items under 50 pounds without assistance as well as ongoing mobility throughout the shift including standing, sitting, and walking for long periods. Flexibility is required to perform additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

• Support several departments by maintaining cleanliness and readiness of linens and utensils.
• Operate and upkeep cleaning machinery and tools to ensure efficient function.
• Transport linens and dishware within the hotel premises efficiently.
• Adhere to company policies and quality standards to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
• Maintain professional appearance and communication in all interactions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet common goals and cultivate positive working relationships.
• Report any accidents, damages or hazardous conditions promptly to management.
• Perform physical tasks involving lifting, moving, bending, crouching, stretching, and twisting as required throughout shifts.

Desired Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certification is not mandatory.
• No prior work experience in a similar role is necessary.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No licenses or certifications needed.
