Position Summary
This position relates to a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within the Chest Clinic situated at St Woolos Hospital. The role involves providing vital support in outpatient respiratory care, including conducting clinical observations and assisting nursing and medical teams with respiratory diagnostics. The role may experience some modifications as it is currently under review within the Health Board. Successful candidates will receive updates and training as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of the busy Chest Clinic outpatient unit.
- Carry out clinical observations and respiratory diagnostic procedures under supervision.
- Assist nurses and consultants in delivering effective respiratory care.
- Contribute as a team member in a dynamic and changing environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working in healthcare environments with patient interaction.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Welsh language proficiency is preferred but not mandatory; applications in Welsh are welcomed and treated equally.
- Experience in outpatient departments or respiratory patient care is advantageous.
- NVQ Level 3 is a desirable qualification.
Additional Information and Terms
- This is a fixed-term appointment for 6 months starting from 1st April, to meet service needs.
- The salary band for this role will be aligned with NHS Agenda for Change pay scales effective from April 2026, implemented August 2026.
