Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate medical appointment scheduling by managing patient, provider, and facility availability
  • Utilize electronic medical records and scheduling software to maintain appointment accuracy and patient safety
  • Collect and document patient demographics and insurance details to support authorizations and referrals
  • Deliver pre- and post-test instructions to patients to prepare them adequately for their appointments
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and clinical staff across multiple channels to improve patient interactions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical knowledge
  • At least one year of customer service or related experience within a healthcare environment
  • Capability to manage a high volume of inbound calls professionally
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills fostering positive customer relations
  • Proficient computer operation and typing skills, including common office software use

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a call center or scheduler role within practice management
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of payer contract terms and healthcare reimbursement processes
