Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate medical appointment scheduling by managing patient, provider, and facility availability
- Utilize electronic medical records and scheduling software to maintain appointment accuracy and patient safety
- Collect and document patient demographics and insurance details to support authorizations and referrals
- Deliver pre- and post-test instructions to patients to prepare them adequately for their appointments
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and clinical staff across multiple channels to improve patient interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical knowledge
- At least one year of customer service or related experience within a healthcare environment
- Capability to manage a high volume of inbound calls professionally
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills fostering positive customer relations
- Proficient computer operation and typing skills, including common office software use
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a call center or scheduler role within practice management
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of payer contract terms and healthcare reimbursement processes
