Position Overview

A growing healthcare services company in the United States is looking for a seasoned attorney to join its legal team. This role is critical in providing legal support primarily focused on commercial contract negotiations and matters relating to the Corporate Practice of Medicine (CPOM) across the organization's various operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate diverse commercial contracts, including agreements with customers, vendors, and professional service providers.
  • Offer expert advice regarding CPOM concerns, including structuring physician practices, managing management services organizations (MSOs), drafting management services agreements (MSAs), and navigating regulatory issues affecting multiple states.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to deliver practical, business-centered legal counsel on everyday operational challenges.
  • Assist the legal team with healthcare regulatory and commercial concerns as they emerge.
  • Detect legal risks and propose actionable solutions that meet the organization’s business goals.
  • Work closely with operational, compliance, and senior management teams to ensure cohesive legal support.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Between five and ten years of legal practice experience, either in-house or at a law firm with a focus on healthcare law.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial legal agreements.
  • Extensive understanding of CPOM issues with hands-on experience advising on physician practice frameworks, MSOs, and healthcare regulatory matters.
  • Experience supporting healthcare providers, medical groups, MSOs, rehabilitation services, home health agencies, or similar healthcare service entities is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the capacity to deliver pragmatic and business-informed legal guidance.
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Additional Information

This role particularly suits attorneys who prefer close collaboration with business operations and possess a unique blend of commercial contracting expertise alongside CPOM knowledge, adept at supporting healthcare organizations through complex operational and regulatory challenges.
