Role Overview
Oceania seeks caring and committed Healthcare Assistants to support older adults at various Auckland locations. We have multiple openings for part-time, full-time, and casual positions, welcoming applicants passionate about encouraging dignity, comfort, and independence for elderly residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care preserving residents' dignity, privacy, and comfort.
- Assist with daily tasks including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
- Monitor and address physical and emotional needs, reporting any concerns following protocols.
- Foster respectful, trust-based relationships with residents and their families or whānau.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment that enhances wellbeing and independence.
- Adhere to individual care plans, collaborating closely with Registered Nurses for consistent, high-standard care.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection control procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Caregiver, or similar role in caring for older adults.
- Approach every task with compassion, patience, and respect for elderly individuals.
- Effective communication capabilities and a cooperative team approach.
- Dedication to resident-centered care emphasizing dignity and safety.
- Willingness to work flexible rotating shifts including weekends and nights.
