Role Overview

Oceania seeks caring and committed Healthcare Assistants to support older adults at various Auckland locations. We have multiple openings for part-time, full-time, and casual positions, welcoming applicants passionate about encouraging dignity, comfort, and independence for elderly residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care preserving residents' dignity, privacy, and comfort.
  • Assist with daily tasks including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
  • Monitor and address physical and emotional needs, reporting any concerns following protocols.
  • Foster respectful, trust-based relationships with residents and their families or whānau.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment that enhances wellbeing and independence.
  • Adhere to individual care plans, collaborating closely with Registered Nurses for consistent, high-standard care.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection control procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Caregiver, or similar role in caring for older adults.
  • Approach every task with compassion, patience, and respect for elderly individuals.
  • Effective communication capabilities and a cooperative team approach.
  • Dedication to resident-centered care emphasizing dignity and safety.
  • Willingness to work flexible rotating shifts including weekends and nights.
