About Lotus Care

Lotus Care offers a variety of respite, residential, and support services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in welcoming community environments throughout the Midlands region. Our mission is to empower the individuals we support to develop skills that enable them to lead fulfilling lives and participate fully as equal members of their communities.

Role Overview

  • Locations available: Tullamore or Clonaslee
  • Permanent full-time contract
  • Average working hours: 42 hours per week, including day and waking night shifts
  • Salary range: €35,000 to €50,000, depending on experience
  • Reporting to: Person in Charge

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage and facilitate decision-making, independence, and personal growth for service users
  • Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, health maintenance, and presentation
  • Deliver care in a person-centered approach aligned with individual care plans and objectives
  • Administer prescribed medications and accurately document dispensation
  • Fulfill Key Worker duties by supporting service users in achieving their goals
  • Maintain thorough and precise records and reports
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support service users’ targets
  • Record and report any incidents or complaints involving staff, service users, or visitors
  • Comply with organizational policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and codes of practice

Essential Requirements

  • At least a Level 5 qualification in Applied Social Studies, Social Care, or a closely related field
  • Registered with, or in the process of registering with, the Health Care Assistants Registration Board (CORU - Social Care Worker category)
  • Possess a full, clean Irish driving license
  • Previous experience in social care or healthcare is preferred
  • Good understanding of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Successful Garda Vetting or Police Clearance
