Role Summary
The Residential Support Worker role involves assisting residents with daily living tasks within a residential service setting, focusing on personal care, social engagement, and financial support. The role emphasizes a person-centred care approach to ensure continuity and quality of care. Additionally, the position supports the House Leader with various responsibilities.
Key Duties
- Provide comprehensive care tailored to individual residents' assessed needs, encompassing healthcare, social, and financial aspects.
- Implement and follow all personalized care plans within the residence.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, ensuring services remain focused on person-centred, safe, and effective care.
- Promote residents' personal development by supporting informed decision-making and facilitating opportunities for growth.
- Help residents achieve their yearly goals and encourage them to develop skills for self-responsibility in their lives.
- Support active participation in daily household life and maintain adherence to Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Comply with organizational policies and regulatory standards related to medication, risk management, GDPR, health and safety, safeguarding, restrictive practices, and incident reporting.
- Engage in all required mandatory training sessions.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, maintaining open communication with colleagues.
- Attend relevant meetings including reviews, team gatherings, and others as directed by leadership.
- Perform duties responsively and timely, aligned with residents' requirements and internal policies.
- Uphold professional ethics, confidentiality, and applicable legislation in all responsibilities.
Support to House Leadership
- Assist the House Leader with administrative tasks and contribute to delivering high-quality care services.
- Report any issues or challenges related to the residence or support team promptly.
- Engage in regular support meetings and supervision sessions with the House Leader.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain personal and collective safety by adhering to appropriate health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Identify and manage risks proactively and report hazards or incidents accurately as required.
Community and House Life
- Respect and embody the organization's values, ethos, and person-centred philosophy.
- Support the spiritual aspects of house life in line with residents' preferences.
- Honor the religious beliefs and practices of all individuals involved within the residence.
- Ensure clear and timely communication with residents, staff, volunteers, and family members.
- Encourage volunteer involvement and respond constructively to their feedback regarding house activities.
Administrative Duties
- Keep precise and updated documentation as required by the role.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager.
