Role overview
Medmark Occupational Healthcare is seeking a Health Screener on a fixed-term, part-time basis to deliver onsite occupational health screening services for clients across Ireland.
Key duties
- Carry out wellness screening appointments at client premises.
- Take blood samples and support phlebotomy activities.
- Record measurements such as blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and waist circumference.
- Support health surveillance checks including audiometry, spirometry, VDU assessments, and related screening tasks.
- Assemble and dismantle temporary screening clinics at client locations.
- Keep screening tools and equipment clean, safe, and in good working order.
- Handle medical waste correctly in line with required disposal procedures.
- Offer basic guidance on healthy lifestyle practices when appropriate.
- Use Medmark's software to enter accurate client assessment information.
Pay and working pattern
The role is paid at €190 per day. Working time is 22.5 hours each week.
Candidate profile
- You should have relevant qualifications in nursing, phlebotomy, or health surveillance, with similar experience considered an advantage.
- Hands-on phlebotomy experience is required.
- Training to give vaccinations is not mandatory, but it would be beneficial.
- You need strong communication abilities, including empathy, active listening, and good interpersonal skills.
- You should be well organised, able to plan your time effectively, and comfortable prioritising tasks to a high professional standard.
- You must work well with others and build positive working relationships.
- Access to your own transport is essential.
- Garda vetting is required.
- The job requires flexibility to travel to client sites nationwide.
- You should be able to work independently as well as within a team.
- Good IT ability and experience using electronic health records are important.
