About the Role
This position is for an HSE Officer who will take ownership of safety and environmental practices across engineering project sites. The role calls for someone hands-on who can help build a strong prevention-first culture, keep teams safe, and ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections and audits at project sites to spot hazards, evaluate risks, and record compliance against HSE rules and internal policies.
- Create, refine, and roll out HSE procedures, training modules, and safety controls based on the needs of each project.
- Look into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, prepare written findings, and track corrective steps to reduce the chance of repeat events.
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety training for workers and other site personnel to strengthen awareness and capability.
- Work with regulators, clients, and external auditors to make sure the site remains aligned with legal obligations and industry expectations.
- Track HSE performance indicators, keep accurate records, and compile reports for leadership and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- A valid NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
- Between 3 and 5 years of practical HSE experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing settings.
- Solid understanding of applicable safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, local labor laws, and regional environmental standards.
- Demonstrated capability in risk assessment, incident investigation, and preparation of corrective action plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to drive behavior change and strengthen safety culture across all levels.
- Preferred exposure to HSE management systems or software, ISO 45001 implementation, or SHEQ qualifications.
- Additional advantage for candidates with experience in environmental compliance or sustainability-related work.
