Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a committed Health Safety Environment (HSE) Engineer with at least two years of professional experience to lead and manage health, safety, and environmental procedures at our construction or infrastructure project sites. The role involves daily inspections, reducing hazards at the workplace, and guaranteeing adherence to Saudi labor laws and safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform daily evaluations and site inspections to detect hazards and unsafe conditions, taking immediate corrective measures when necessary.
- Assist in creating Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Risk Assessments, as well as administer the Permit to Work (PTW) system for tasks involving higher risks.
- Conduct daily safety briefings known as Toolbox Talks (TBT), alongside orientations and inductions for new hires and subcontractors.
- Investigate and document workplace incidents or near misses, identifying root causes and introducing preventive actions.
- Verify that all workers comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regulations and meet local health and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years' experience in HSE engineering within construction or related infrastructure sectors.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory; possessing NEBOSH IGC or OSHA certifications is advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of ISO 45001 and OSHA standards, excellent hazard identification capabilities, and proficiency in English and Arabic communication.
