Job description

About the role

This role is for public health professionals who want to contribute their subject matter expertise to advanced AI model development. The position supports AI research teams working to improve the accuracy, safety, and reliability of large language models, especially in health-related contexts.

As a Health Policy & Management AI Content Specialist, you will use your MPH-level training to test and strengthen AI outputs across topics such as epidemiological analysis, health equity, and policy interpretation. The work is fully remote and can be scheduled around your availability.

Role details

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Engagement type: Hourly contract
  • Work arrangement: Remote
  • Expected commitment: 10 to 40 hours per week

What you'll do

  • Build advanced public health case scenarios, including outbreak simulations, assessments of health equity, and interpretation of clinical trial statistics.
  • Create high-quality reference answers that are thoroughly grounded in research literature, epidemiological evidence, and guidance from recognized public health authorities such as the CDC and WHO.
  • Review AI-generated health advice and policy outputs for correctness, bias, internal logic, and ethical soundness.
  • Provide structured feedback that improves how models handle topics such as correlation versus causation, risk communication, and culturally appropriate health messaging.

Candidate profile

This role is suited to candidates with graduate-level public health training and strong knowledge in at least two of the following areas: epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, or health policy. You should be comfortable turning complex data into clear, practical, and culturally aware writing. Strong attention to detail is essential, particularly when checking statistical meaning, citations, and intervention reasoning.

No prior AI experience is necessary, as full onboarding will be provided.

Nice to have

  • Past experience in annotation work, quality review, or research coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as R, SAS, or Stata.
  • Exposure to health communication, clinical research, or public health surveillance.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Contribute directly to cutting-edge large language model development.
  • Enjoy a fully remote, asynchronous workflow with flexible scheduling.
  • Benefit from freelance-style autonomy without fixed working hours.
  • Use your expertise to improve how AI handles public health information.
  • Potential for contract extensions and broader project involvement over time.
