Role overview
This position sits within the Golf, Fitness, and Entertainment category at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based at Al Corniche Street. The role is not remote.
What the job involves
The Health Club Administrator supports the recreation area by inviting, registering, and scheduling guests for activities, helping create an enjoyable and relaxed environment, and sharing information about the facilities and available programs. The role also involves making sure the recreation space is safe, orderly, and compliant with facility rules.
You will monitor activity in the recreation area, react properly in emergencies according to local operating procedures, and alert a supervisor if a guest may not be able to participate safely. The job also includes cleaning and maintaining recreation equipment and supplies.
Guest service and operational duties
This role requires timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management, along with completion of all required safety training and certifications. You are expected to follow company procedures, keep your uniform and personal appearance professional, safeguard confidential information, and protect company property.
The position also calls for warm guest interaction in line with brand standards, including greeting guests, recognizing service needs, helping guests with disabilities, and showing genuine appreciation. Clear, professional communication is important, including proper phone etiquette and collaboration with coworkers to meet shared goals.
Additional duties include handling payments for equipment rentals, recreation activities, facility rentals, or retail purchases, while also meeting quality standards and checking information carefully in different formats. The role may involve using computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and retrieve work-related information.
Physical and working expectations
The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for long periods or an entire shift. It also involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects of up to 25 pounds without help, and more than 50 pounds with assistance. Other physical tasks include handling items of different sizes and weights, moving through narrow or elevated spaces, walking on uneven, sloped, or slippery surfaces, climbing stairs or ramps, and bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. No previous related work experience or supervisory experience is required. The job requires CPR certification, first aid certification, recreation equipment-related certification, and any additional certification or training required by local or state agencies.
