About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant within our team, you play a vital role in helping shape "Brighter Futures" for the individuals we support. Your responsibilities will include actively participating in daily service activities and routines, delivering direct support to service users, performing administrative duties, and managing household tasks. This position involves working collaboratively within residential services, adhering strictly to TUSLA regulations and standards.
Our specialized services operate continuously, 24/7 throughout the year. Therefore, the role requires working on a rotating shift roster, which includes sleep-in and nighttime awake duties as necessary. Flexibility regarding work hours may occasionally be needed due to the nature of the position.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or an equivalent credential.
- At least one year of experience in a comparable role supporting children and young people unable to reside with their families.
- A full manual driving license with legal eligibility to drive in Ireland.
- Legal entitlement to live and work in Ireland without restrictions.
Primary Duties
- Provide care and assist with activities for the young people assigned by the Manager, following each individual's integrated Care Plan to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Recognize and respect each young person as a unique individual, prioritizing their needs and comfort.
- Serve as an advocate for the young people, ensuring they receive appropriate information and support.
- Facilitate social interaction for supported individuals both individually and within groups.
- Engage actively in communication channels such as team meetings, staff forums, and emails.
- Maintain strict confidentiality concerning the organization and those supported at all times.
- Exhibit flexibility and readiness to work shifts according to service requirements.
- Ensure accurate preparation and maintenance of files for potential inspections.
