Health Care Assistant at Killeline Care Centre

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated Health Care Assistants to join our care team at Killeline Care Centre, Newcastle West, County Limerick. Working collaboratively with nursing staff, you will help deliver the highest quality of person-centered care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Support nursing and care teams to meet the individual needs of residents with quality care.
• Build rapport with residents by understanding their interests and providing companionship and assistance.
• Encourage and assist residents with mobility, promoting optimal movement when possible.
• Help residents maintain their personal hygiene and appearance while respecting their dignity.
• Assist residents with eating, drinking, and ensuring their physical comfort.
• Organize and participate in social activities to enhance resident engagement.
• Maintain open communication between residents, their families, and staff to foster strong relationships.
• Contribute to keeping the care environment clean and safe.
• Assist with health and safety compliance within the home environment.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Nurse in Charge or management as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication abilities.
• Capacity to work independently and effectively within a team.
• Positive attitude and approach to care.
• Fluent English in both written and spoken forms.
