Role Overview

The Health Care Assistant (HCA) plays a vital role within the multidisciplinary team by supporting the care needs of residents. This role involves assisting with personal care to promote each resident's independence and well-being while addressing their physical, emotional, and cultural requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with hygiene and dressing needs.
• Conduct safe manual handling and transfer of residents within the facility.
• Deliver meals to residents and provide feeding assistance as required.
• Collect used trays and dishes, ensuring resident areas and rooms remain tidy.
• Perform bed-making duties and change linens regularly.
• Provide incontinence care, including emptying commodes and changing catheter bags.
• Collaborate with trained nurses to offer psychological and social support as necessary.
• Maintain constant awareness of residents' dignity, comfort, safety, and whereabouts.
• Adhere rigorously to hygiene, health, and safety guidelines.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.
