About the Role

Join the dynamic Mental Health Team at HMP Risley and Thorncross, a Male Category C PCOSO prison with a Foreign National wing located in Warrington, Cheshire. This role offers the chance to contribute to an innovative and growing mental health service designed to support some of the most marginalized and hard-to-reach individuals. The Mental Health Service alongside the Primary and Secondary care teams follows an integrated stepped care model to provide comprehensive support to service users.

Applicants must have resided in the UK continuously for the previous two years as enhanced background checks require this residency condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage directly and closely with mental health service users and their carers, where relevant.
  • Provide flexible and responsive support tailored to the assessed mental health needs of the service users.
  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines to enhance team effectiveness and promote positive health outcomes.
  • Advocate for and promote the mental health, wellbeing, and overall health of service users and their carers.
  • Support workforce development by promoting skill mix and modernisation within mental health service areas.
  • Design and lead group therapy sessions and activities to support mental health recovery and resilience.
  • Oversee governance and provide support to peer mentors within the mental health team.
