Job description
Role overview
An opening is available for an Administrator to support the Primary Care Service at HMP Manchester, with additional cover for the Mental Health Service when required. The post calls for someone energetic, organised and comfortable working as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering administrative support accurately and within tight timeframes.
Key duties
The role involves providing administrative cover for service users, clinicians and other healthcare professionals. Core tasks include liaison with hospitals, secretarial support, rota management and producing meeting minutes.
What the role requires
The successful candidate should bring excellent communication skills, confident use of Word, Excel and Outlook, and a solid background in administration. A flexible approach and the ability to respond to changing priorities are important, as this will support success in the post and help develop further skills.
Security and clearance requirements
This position requires prison clearance and counter-terrorism security screening because it is based in a high-security environment. The required clearance must be kept up to date for the duration of employment.
Applicants must have lived in the UK and be able to provide three years of address history to support the application. Candidates who cannot evidence this will not be shortlisted, as it is a mandatory part of the enhanced prison clearance process.
Working arrangements
The employer is open to considering both full-time and part-time applications for this vacancy.
