Job description
Role overview
Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking Health and Security Assistants, with pathway opportunities for Wardsperson applicants, to support safety, security, and patient-focused services at Leeton Health Service. The role contributes to protecting staff, patients, visitors, and property while also assisting with practical day-to-day tasks across the facility.
Key duties
- Help maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Carry out security-related duties and monitor premises and property protection.
- Support patient care through cleaning, patient assistance, and administrative work when required.
- Use computers and security systems confidently as part of daily work.
- Work collaboratively across the health service to respond to operational needs.
Candidate profile
The organisation is looking for someone with strong communication and customer service skills, confidence with technology, and the ability to travel when required, including over longer distances. For Health and Security Assistant applicants, an NSW Security Licence Class 1A and a First Aid Certificate are required. A current driver’s licence is also needed. Applicants must either hold a current NSW Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one. For Aged Care placement, completion of the Aged Care Statutory Declaration is mandatory.
Employment details
This recruitment includes full-time, part-time, and casual opportunities. The position is based at Leeton Health Service and is classified as Health and Security Assistant, with Wardsperson considered as a pathway into the role. The remuneration is $61,962.05 to $66,209.91 per annum, pro rata, plus superannuation and 17.5% leave loading where applicable. This is a NSW Health Category A role and requires immunisation and screening for specified diseases, along with completion of the OASV Undertaking/Declaration Form and TB Assessment Tool during recruitment.
