Role Overview

The Health and Safety Supervisor serves as a crucial link between management and employees, overseeing the enforcement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols at various work sites. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to safety standards, monitoring onsite conditions to identify potential hazards, initiating corrective measures, investigating incidents, and cultivating a culture of safety and health awareness among the workforce.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enforce compliance with local HSE laws and internal company policies.
  • Lead teams to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Conduct proactive site inspections to detect hazards and implement solutions.
  • Ensure availability and proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety devices.
  • Address non-compliance with safety practices and resolve violations promptly.
  • Supervise and oversee thorough risk assessments across all operational activities.
  • Coordinate equipment safety inspections and maintenance with relevant units.
  • Lead periodic reviews of emergency exits, fire protection systems, and overall site safety conditions.
  • Drive continuous evaluation and improvement of safety policies and emergency plans.
  • Coordinate and manage safety training initiatives, focusing on new hires.
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents, analyze fundamental causes, and recommend preventative measures.
  • Manage accurate safety records, reporting, complaint processes, and drive workplace safety enhancements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A solid track record with 5 to 8 years of experience in occupational health, safety, and environmental roles.

Essential Skills

  • Comprehensive expertise in Saudi HSE regulations with the ability to enforce compliance effectively.
  • Capability to design, implement, and oversee safety training programs for teams.
  • Proficiency in analyzing safety metrics and managing reporting processes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure strict compliance with safety standards.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage operational demands under pressure.
  • Experience managing HSE-related systems and technological tools for continuous improvement.
