Job description

Role Overview

Ayrton Group is hiring a Health and Safety Officer to support its safety operations across the Cork area. The role focuses on keeping health and safety standards high across active project sites, aligning day-to-day practice with Irish legal requirements, and helping strengthen a proactive safety-first culture.

What You Will Do

  • Help build and sustain a strong health and safety mindset across the organisation.
  • Carry out routine site visits, audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Make sure work practices follow Irish health and safety law and recognised industry standards.
  • Create, update, and review health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work systems.
  • Look into accidents, incidents, and near misses, then prepare reports and support corrective actions.
  • Lead or support inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions as needed.
  • Work in close coordination with site managers, project teams, and subcontractors to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Keep health and safety records, logs, and documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Track contractor compliance and contribute to ongoing safety improvements.
  • Communicate with regulators and outside stakeholders when the job requires it.

Requirements

  • A recognised qualification in Health and Safety is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a Health and Safety position, ideally in construction or pharmaceutical settings.
  • Solid understanding of Irish health and safety legislation.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and organisational abilities.
  • A full clean driving licence is required, along with the flexibility to travel between sites.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The position involves working across multiple active projects in the Cork area and partnering closely with site-based teams.
