Health and Safety Manager

What you will do

• Create, refine, and roll out health and safety policies that are effective across the business.
• Ensure the organisation remains aligned with all relevant legislation and regulatory obligations.
• Carry out routine risk reviews, identify hazards, and put practical controls in place to reduce exposure.
• Deliver guidance, coaching, and training to staff on safe working methods and emergency response.
• Review health and safety performance regularly and present updates to senior leadership.
• Encourage and sustain a workplace culture where safety is a shared priority.
• Manage, support, and develop a team of health and safety professionals so they remain capable and engaged.
• Work with public authorities, including the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), to maintain compliance and resolve issues as they arise.

What you need

• A degree in health and safety, or equivalent practical experience, would be an advantage.
• A postgraduate qualification in fire safety engineering is preferred.
• Member-level accreditation with a relevant professional organisation is required.
• CIF/IOSH PSDP qualification is needed.
• Previous management experience in construction and/or retail is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies.
• Clear and confident communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Work setup

This position follows a blended working pattern, combining office-based and remote work.
