Role Overview

Become part of AWS's renowned safety culture by joining as a Regional Safety Engineer responsible for managing health and safety functions within a designated area. This role focuses on enhancing the safety of data centers, promoting safety culture, and safeguarding employees. Close cooperation with security teams, construction, operations, compliance, HR, and external partners is essential to uphold and advance safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement health and safety policies, systems, training, and risk assessments to comply with and surpass regulatory demands.
• Conduct comprehensive safety audits across data centers to ensure adherence to health and life safety standards.
• Develop safety plans addressing emergencies, business continuity, and unusual events on-site.
• Maintain integrity in safety records and analyze data trends to advise leadership on safety initiatives.
• Partner with AWS Health & Safety Program and legal teams to interpret regulations and provide guidance.
• Identify operational risks and collaborate with teams to mitigate hazards effectively.
• Interact daily with customers to provide health and safety advice and support.

Candidate Profile

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industrial roles is required.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and with various organizational levels.
• Experience in related fields such as law enforcement, customer service, investigations, or project management is valued.
• Preferred skills include proficiency in SQL for data handling, familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, and experience in risk analysis or compliance sectors.
