Role Overview
As the inaugural Head of Product, you will lead the product function during a crucial scaling phase. Your responsibilities include shaping overarching strategy, refining market positioning and product roadmaps, uplifting product management standards, and implementing structures and methodologies that enable teams to make confident and swift decisions.
You will collaborate closely with the CEO, CTO, product managers, designers, and other leaders across engineering, machine learning, and go-to-market teams to align strategy, prioritize efforts, and ensure product development delivers tangible value to customers and the business. Your leadership will embed a discovery-driven approach focused on understanding customer workflows and leveraging technology to create unique outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and define global product strategies and macro roadmaps in partnership with executive leadership, identifying gaps and setting long-term goals.
- Communicate product vision and strategy clearly to enhance alignment and decision-making.
- Mentor and develop product managers and designers, establishing career frameworks and growth trajectories.
- Address team challenges to maintain a sustainable, high-performing work environment.
- Enhance the product operating model by prioritizing rituals and integrating customer, market, and competitive insights into early decision-making.
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment and resolve conflicts in priorities and viewpoints.
- Manage executive and customer escalations while safeguarding the product roadmap.
- Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, and initiative consistent with business objectives.
- Plan for resource capacity and collaborate with human resources to secure top talent for a balanced product organization.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Head, Director, or VP of Product in a scale-up environment.
- Expertise in building and managing enterprise products involving data-intensive, process optimization, AI, or automation technologies.
- Skilled people leader with a strong track record mentoring product and design professionals.
- Excellent at stakeholder management and alignment between engineering and commercial leadership.
- Experience in delivering products powered by internally developed machine learning or AI technologies.
- Sound judgment in prioritization and roadmap trade-offs.
- Strong commercial and product insight with a focus on customer value.
- Capable in managing disagreements, aligning diverse stakeholders, and navigating ambiguity.
- Experience working in international, multicultural teams.
- Fluent English communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to various audiences.
Desirable Qualifications
- Technical background or hands-on experience in software engineering or maintaining technical systems.
- Experience embedding product and design teams within cross-functional engineering groups.
- Proven ability to lead fully remote and distributed teams.
Location and Work Arrangement
This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in North America and Western Europe, preferably within time zones that overlap with the company’s teams in these regions.
