Role Overview

The Wealth & Trading division plays a pivotal role in transforming investing by leveraging data to provide accessible, intelligent financial decision tools. This team relentlessly builds innovative solutions worldwide. The Head of Wealth & Trading will be responsible for ensuring the business operates with appropriate licensing, scalability, and technical robustness across the region. This leadership role encompasses oversight of trading and investment functions, managing regulatory authorizations, product strategy, governance, risk, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and align the local wealth and trading business strategy with the global direction and growth targets.
Lead the comprehensive development of local entity operations, including talent acquisition, process establishment, system implementation, and governance frameworks.
Shape the client offerings, including product range, pricing models, feature sets, and educational resources.
Serve as principal senior liaison with local regulatory authorities, managing licensing, approvals, and ongoing compliance supervision.
Design and implement governance structures to ensure operational integrity.
Guarantee strict adherence to securities, conduct, and consumer protection laws in cooperation with Compliance and Legal teams.
Oversee the primary risk management framework for market, operational, conduct, technological, and regulatory risks within Wealth & Trading.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and succession planning for the team on location.
Manage profitability including revenue growth, expense control, and capital efficiency.

Necessary Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or a related discipline.
Substantial expertise in wealth and trading sectors within banks, brokerage firms, fintech companies, or other regulated financial institutions.
Proven history of leading, launching, or significantly transforming retail brokerage or wealth platforms.
Comprehensive understanding of retail trading and investment products such as equities, ETFs, and mutual funds.
Detailed knowledge of relevant Australian securities laws and conduct regulations.
Experience working collaboratively with regulatory bodies, handling queries, inspections, and remedial activities.
Track record of successful partnership with product development and engineering teams in a digital context.

Preferred but Not Required

Familiarity with fixed income securities and other asset classes.
