About The Role
Join Paramount’s mission to captivate global audiences as the Head of Video for The Free Press. This position is pivotal in shaping the creative and strategic direction of all video content including podcasts and social media clips, ensuring alignment with The Free Press's editorial standards and audience engagement objectives. Located in New York City, this role requires deep familiarity with YouTube programming and a passion for authentic journalism.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team comprising full-time employees and contractors responsible for producing video shows, podcasts, and social media clips.
- Oversee all aspects of existing video podcasts and spearhead the creation and launch of new shows, managing editorial direction, guest selection, and aesthetic presentation across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and execute a targeted clipping strategy aimed at maximizing virality and audience reach.
- Take full ownership of the video division’s profit and loss, establishing and monitoring key performance indicators to track organizational success.
- Act as a vital communicator among department heads, producers, and editors, converting editorial goals into actionable and clear production notes.
- Direct supervision of Directors of Production and Post-Production to maintain quality standards from concept through final content delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience collaborating with on-camera personalities, producers, and editors to shape video content.
- Proficiency with production equipment and software including microphones, cameras, editing tools like Premiere, and platforms such as Riverside; familiarity with emerging AI tools is a plus.
- Strong editorial judgment in post-production, with the ability to influence pacing, tone, structure, and visuals, while effectively integrating feedback from various stakeholders.
- Capability to work swiftly in a dynamic environment, including responding to breaking news situations beyond traditional work hours.

- Salary range: $185,000 to $200,000 annually, varying by location, experience, and education.
