Job description
Overview
The Head of Treasury role involves leading the treasury operations with a focus on managing cash flows, liquidity, financing of real estate projects, and maintaining strong relationships with financial institutions. The position also includes oversight of debt, risk management, and ensuring financial compliance to support the funding needs of real estate developments.
Main Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive treasury strategies aligned with the firm's objectives.
- Oversee cash flow management, liquidity levels, and effective utilization of working capital resources.
- Lead forecasting activities related to cash flows and project financing requirements.
- Maintain and nurture banking relations, including handling corporate loans, financing projects, letters of credit, and bank guarantees.
- Monitor and manage debt instruments, repayment schedules, and treasury risks such as foreign exchange, interest rate fluctuations, and liquidity concerns.
- Ensure adherence to treasury policies, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and banking covenants.
- Regularly prepare detailed treasury and liquidity reports for the executive team.
- Provide leadership and development for the treasury team to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration is required.
- A postgraduate degree such as an MBA or professional credentials like CTP, CFA, ACCA, CPA, or CA is highly desirable.
- Possess 12 to 15 years of extensive treasury experience, including a minimum of 8 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Proven expertise in real estate or property development sectors is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge and experience in project financing, banking relationship management, debt oversight, and treasury functions.
- Experience working in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, specifically Qatar, is preferred.
