Role Overview

The Head of Supply Chain is a critical leadership position responsible for creating and managing the entire supply chain and logistics framework. This includes sourcing and buying all tower components — such as structural steel, galvanized pipes, injection-molded plastics, and electronic parts — as well as overseeing international trade compliance, inbound logistics, inventory control, and warehouse activities. This role demands establishing robust systems, processes, and supplier partnerships to support manufacturing scale-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure all key tower components and manage supplier relationships focusing on cost, quality, and timeliness.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure supplier diversification to mitigate risks and achieve cost reduction goals.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers and product teams to facilitate new product launches and ensure manufacturability.
• Administer international trade activities including imports, exports, customs clearance, tariff classification, and compliance with trade regulations.
• Manage logistics partners such as freight forwarders and customs brokers, optimizing shipping modes and costs across air, ocean, and ground transport.
• Develop and maintain inventory planning and warehouse operations ensuring component availability aligns with production schedules while minimizing excess stock.
• Implement inventory best practices including ERP/MRP system integration, stock level policies, and material flow management.
• Lead and grow the supply chain team, define KPIs, create performance dashboards, and develop standard operating procedures to ensure scalable and auditable operations.

Required Qualifications

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or related functions, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven expertise in managing international trade operations, including compliance and customs procedures.
• Hands-on background in procuring manufactured components such as metal fabrication, structural steel, pipe, plastics, or electronic assemblies.
• Experience designing or improving supply chain infrastructures within manufacturing environments.
• Fluency with ERP or MRP systems handling purchasing, inventory, and demand planning.
• Strong negotiation abilities and track record of developing supplier partnerships.
• Excellent organizational skills suitable for fast-growing, dynamic settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industrial/agricultural machinery, capital equipment, or hardware manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles like 5S or Kanban applied in production or warehouse operations.
• Supply chain certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP.
• Familiarity with contract or toll manufacturing environments.
• Background in scaling supply chains to support rapid production growth.
