About the Role

Our client is a dynamic and rapidly expanding consumer goods company covering sectors like personal care, wellness, and food & beverage. As the business grows, they are looking for a Head of Supply Chain & Purchasing to lead the comprehensive supply chain operations and lay down scalable foundations to support the next phase of expansion. This role is a high-profile leadership position responsible for steering both strategic and operational facets of supply chain management, ensuring product availability, optimizing costs and working capital, and nurturing supplier relationships that foster long-term success. Leading a team of five, this role is pivotal in transforming the supply chain and procurement into a competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and direct all supply chain functions including forecasting, S&OP, procurement, production planning, inventory control, logistics, fulfillment, and supplier management.
  • Design and implement scalable processes that balance service quality, inventory, costs, cash flow, and customer satisfaction to support ongoing growth.
  • Drive operational excellence by managing KPIs, preparing performance reports, and initiating continuous improvement projects.
  • Enhance ERP system utilization, improve data integrity, and enforce process discipline to enable better decision-making and organizational transparency.
  • Elevate procurement into a strategic asset using supplier segmentation, sourcing strategy development, negotiation of contracts, and setting of framework agreements.
  • Adopt multi-source procurement methods to boost supply chain resilience and reduce risks.
  • Lead digital transformation and automation within the supply chain by applying advanced technologies and AI-supported planning solutions.
  • Improve forecasting precision and planning capabilities using data-driven approaches.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks proactively and manage them to ensure continuity and compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Coach and develop a team of five supply chain professionals, promoting accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

Candidate Profile

  • A degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years’ experience in supply chain leadership roles within industries such as consumer goods, personal care, beauty, food & beverage, FMCG, supplements, pharmaceuticals, or e-commerce.
  • Proven expertise in building and scaling professional supply chain functions in fast-growth companies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management including S&OP, demand planning, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relations.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems and a thorough understanding of integrated supply chain, production planning, procurement, and inventory processes.
  • Successful track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and achieving significant cost savings.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing teams within dynamic, fast-paced settings.
  • Fluency in German and English with at least C1 proficiency level.
