Job description
About Hyprwork
Hyprwork is an expanding operator focusing on creating and scaling direct-to-consumer brands in the health and wellness sector. Our leading brand, Rejuvacare, has proven the viability of our model with products like RejuvaKnee aiding adults to regain mobility and reduce pain. Trusted by over 400,000 customers and mainly shipping to the U.S., we have grown twelvefold in a year, now comprising roughly 150 employees across more than 15 countries. We operate as a remote-first and asynchronous-first company, upholding high accountability standards in all activities.
Role Overview
This position is about taking full ownership of the supply chain function rather than simple coordination or senior buyer responsibilities. Our physical business operates through OEM manufacturing partnerships in China and cross-border fulfillment to the U.S. Currently, the supply chain handles around 100,000 units monthly across approximately 20 SKUs within three product categories. As we introduce new brands, complexities such as SKU numbers and category diversity will rise. You will be responsible for designing, costing, mitigating risks, staffing, and scaling the entire supply chain proactively.
Current Chain Details
The existing supply chain is streamlined intentionally: no owned warehouse space, shared fulfillment hubs near Guangzhou and Shenzhen billed per order, inventory managed via Google Sheets, and communications via Slack. New product sourcing typically takes two to three weeks from leadership request to warehouse arrival, with direct sourcing input from founders. Current shipment costs average $6-$8 per package, with targets to reduce costs by $0.50 to $1.00 soon. Your role transcends these metrics to architect total landed cost per unit, decide when spreadsheet-based tools must be replaced, and create systems that maintain rapid sourcing cadence for multiple brands.
Strategic vs. Execution Leadership
Execution functions such as China-based sourcing and operational support between factories and sales platforms exist. However, the business requires strategic foresight for one to two quarters ahead: advanced demand planning to avoid stockouts, cost structures built on competitive pressure, implementing dual sourcing policies, and quality systems preventing repetitive defects. You'll engage in hands-on tasks initially but primarily be accountable for functional outcomes and developing your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own supply chain strategy and network architecture, covering supplier networks, fulfillment facilities in southern China, carrier arrangements, and scaling plans for multi-brand growth.
- Develop demand planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) disciplines aligned with sales data, campaign timetables, and launch schedules; establish deliberate inventory coverage of six to eight weeks balancing risks.
- Manage supplier relationships including qualification, negotiation on pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms, and lead times; enforce dual sourcing on fast-moving items and uphold supplier performance metrics.
- Control the landed cost per unit by driving down shipping expenses through competitive bids, negotiating volume discounts, and optimizing shipping partners and routes.
- Lead quality management and returns processes, partnering with Customer Support to analyze defect trends, liaise with factories, and structurally prevent recurring issues.
- Build and expand the supply chain team from current levels, establishing Standard Operating Procedures, dashboards, and transparent reporting to ensure organizational sustainability beyond individual contributors.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Experience, Finance, and Amazon channels to prevent surprises for launches and ensure function KPIs (e.g., landed cost, lead times, accuracy, inventory levels, defect rates) are regularly reported to leadership.
Who We Are Looking For
- Proven senior-level leadership owning end-to-end supply chains for DTC or e-commerce businesses with OEM manufacturing in China and cross-border shipments to the U.S.
- Strong China operational presence: either located in China or GMT+8 time zone, or concrete experience building and managing on-site Chinese teams and quality control, including frequent factory visits and willingness to travel.
- Strategic planning expertise demonstrated through building forecasts, redesigning cost structures, and scaling networks with measurable outcomes.
- Deep understanding of commercial aspects of China manufacturing such as factory vetting, MOQ and payment negotiations, freight economics, volumetric pricing, and risks related to sole sourcing.
- Track record of developing teams by hiring, coaching, and transforming executors into leaders, aligning with organizational leadership standards.
- Excellent English communication skills across writing, speaking, and negotiation, managing complex interactions under operational and leadership pressures.
- Adaptation to remote and asynchronous work environments, maintaining discipline using minimal tools, such as effective use of spreadsheets while building systems.
Benefits and Working Conditions
- Fully remote role offering genuine accountability over a critical business function.
- Competitive pay with structured bonuses and paid time off.
- Wellness stipends, company-supported computer equipment allowance after milestone tenure, birthday gift cards, local meetup funding, and leadership retreats.
- Direct partnership with founders and a leadership mandate to construct and scale the supply chain for a growing multi-brand portfolio.
- Preferred synchronous collaboration hours from 8 AM to 12 PM EST, with asynchronous communication outside that window.
