About Halter

Halter is dedicated to empowering farmers and graziers to operate more productively and sustainably by revolutionizing grazing with innovative technology. Our customers experience a breakthrough in managing cattle without traditional constraints—imagine a group of 500 cattle calmly moving at their own pace without quad bikes, dogs, or fences. This transformation is seen as magical, changing lives and modernizing the industry. Our culture emphasizes solving challenging problems through a high-performance team that is committed to real-world impact.

Backed by prominent investors such as Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab's Peter Beck, and Icehouse Ventures, we are scaling rapidly with ambitious goals.

The Role

As Halter grows, our supply chain becomes increasingly complex, spanning contract manufacturers in Asia, a global component supplier network, and worldwide customers. The Head of Supply Chain will oversee end-to-end supply chain operations from demand forecasting to customer delivery, leading sales and operations planning (S&OP), supply planning, sourcing, and logistics. This role involves both strategic leadership and hands-on management, working closely with hardware, operations, commercial, and finance leadership to ensure that supply chain capabilities support Halter's rapid expansion across multiple hardware products and markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams in S&OP, supply planning, sourcing, and logistics, establishing clear accountability and a culture of ownership and collaboration.
  • Manage the S&OP process, ensuring aligned demand and supply plans, anticipating supply chain challenges proactively, and driving efficient trade-off decisions between commercial and operational teams.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that cultivate a resilient, competitive, and scalable supplier base while reducing risks such as single-source dependencies and geographical vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee supply planning and inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels, ensure reliable material flow, and address structural supply planning challenges before they escalate operationally.
  • Direct logistics operations ensuring efficient and cost-effective product movement from manufacturing partners to customers, including managing partnerships with freight providers and navigating customs and compliance for expanding geographies.
  • Shape supply chain strategy aligned with business growth objectives, collaborating cross-functionally to support product launches and scaling initiatives, and providing leadership with clear performance metrics and risk visibility.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive leadership experience in supply chain within hardware or electronics manufacturing, managing multiple products and international operations with full end-to-end responsibility.
  • Proven record building and mentoring effective teams with a focus on continuous growth and accountability.
  • Deep expertise in S&OP, supply planning, sourcing, and logistics, capable of setting strategic direction and providing operational oversight.
  • Strong strategic and operational acumen, balancing long-term vision with attention to weekly supply plan details.
  • Experience enhancing supply chain resilience through diversification, lead time reduction, and building systems that withstand pressure.
  • Excellent commercial negotiating skills, understanding total cost of ownership and aligning decisions with business objectives.
  • Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with hardware, commercial, finance, and operations stakeholders, influencing through authority and diplomacy.
  • Clear and adaptable communication skills suitable for board updates and detailed supplier dialogue.
  • Preference for agile, lean processes with a focus on minimizing complexity and maximizing speed.
  • Maturity to face difficult conversations directly and adapt opinions promptly when presented with better solutions, combined with a positive, engaging personality to thrive in high-stakes environments.

We encourage candidates to apply even if they don't meet every criterion, especially women and underrepresented groups, as our team values passion and potential. Joining Halter means engaging in meaningful work with a collaborative, driven team aimed at reshaping an entire industry.
