Role Overview
The Head of Specialized Advisory Services (SAS) leads the department responsible for delivering a range of professional services including accounting outsourcing, bookkeeping, business support, company incorporation, corporate compliance, and insolvency matters. This position demands a solid accounting and advisory background coupled with extensive knowledge of the Qatari business climate, excellent client engagement skills, and a robust network to foster new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and grow the Special Advisory Services department by setting strategies, budgets, KPIs, and expansion objectives.
- Build and mentor a talented team ensuring high performance and quality in service delivery.
- Manage bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, and outsourced finance functions adhering to applicable standards and regulations.
- Review client outputs ensuring superior service quality and compliance.
- Advise on business setup, operational support, corporate compliance, licensing, and registration processes.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and government agencies as needed for client matters.
- Lead or support insolvency, liquidation, restructuring, and business recovery projects offering practical solutions to distressed entities.
- Leverage established professional networks to pursue new business and cultivate relationships with diverse client segments including SMEs, family businesses, corporates, and investors.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop innovative service offerings.
- Create proposals, deliver presentations and participate in client acquisition efforts.
- Maintain trusted advisor status with clients across industries ensuring exceptional client retention and satisfaction.
- Simultaneously manage multiple client assignments, overseeing timelines, resources, budgets, and ensuring adherence to professional standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant professional experience with leadership roles.
- Thorough understanding of the Qatari regulatory environment, business practices, and market landscape.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, ACA or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven leadership and team management skills overseeing advisory teams and complex projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in advisory and consulting including strategy formulation, business planning, and operational improvements.
- High ethical standards and commitment to quality aligned with international compliance frameworks.
- Strong client relationship management abilities with excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders.
