Head of Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES)

About the Role and Company

Airswift is a worldwide manpower provider specializing in the Energy, Infrastructure, and IT sectors, operating across more than 70 countries. We are partnering with a leading Oil & Gas operator to fill the position of Head of SHES on a long-term contract basis located at the onshore headquarters in Doha, Qatar.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the SHES strategic vision and governance framework for the project.
• Ensure adherence to client SHES Management Systems and regulatory compliance.
• Manage contractor SHES performance and assurance initiatives.
• Provide leadership in SHES for Project Management and Operations teams.
• Oversee strategic risk management including verification of critical risk controls.
• Authorize SHES plans, procedures, and assurance programs related to the project.
• Lead investigations of major incidents and promote organizational learning.
• Build SHES capabilities, succession plans, and provide leadership coaching.
• Enhance workforce engagement, welfare, and foster a robust safety culture.
• Champion continuous SHES improvements and strive for excellence throughout project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences, safety, health, environment security, or engineering disciplines.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in SHES within the Oil & Gas sector.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity or oversight over service/vendor personnel, including acting roles.

Working Conditions and Additional Information

• Role based onsite at Doha HQ/Qatar project site.
• Work schedule entails 6 days per week with 8 to 10 hours daily or as project requirements dictate.
• Expected start date is as soon as possible, usually within one month notice period.
